Michael Wayne Hunter

Michael Wayne Hunter, 63, of Newport, died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Newport Hospital. Michael was born August 12, 1951 in Berwyn, IL. He is the son of the late Wendell and Amy (Chalker) Hunter. Michael grew up in Chicago and later Ohio before settling in Newport over 20 years ago. Mike worked as the manager for Fairfield and Wyndham Resorts in property management services. He had a passion for the water, sailing and kite flying. He enjoyed many days at Brenton Point with friends, the wind, and their kites. He is survived by a daughter Cortney Richardson and her husband Tyler of Canon City, CO; and three grandchildren, Abagail, Emilee, and Tate Richardson. He leaves his former wife Holly Ciresi of Canon City, CO, and his siblings, Kay Hunter Grimes Porter of Oklahoma, Kim Hunter of California, and Pam Hunter Lewis of Montana, and several nieces and nephews.A memorial kite fly will be held on June 13, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Brenton Point Park, look for the kites!
