Michele Suzanne Gizzi

Newport, RI - Michele Suzanne Lynch Gizzi, 56, of 15 Caswell Avenue, Newport, RI, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of James F. Gizzi, Jr. Born in Newport, RI on August 19, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Carr Lynch. Mrs. Gizzi was a registered nurse at the Newport Hospital for 32 years. She was a 1969 graduate of Rogers High School, a 1976 graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and a 1985 graduate of Salve Regina College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Michele was a member of Emmanuel Church and the Newport Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association where she served on the board. In 2002 she received the Newport Hospital Employee of the Year award. Michele was an avid reader and enjoyed to travel. Besides her husband of 36 years, she is survived by her children Michael L. Gizzi and Erika L. Gizzi of Newport, RI, her sisters LeEtta Nolan of Middletown, RI, Pamela J. Bougie and her husband Richard of East Hartford, CT and Valerie Ann Martin and her husband Michael of Bristol, RI, her brother-in-law Ralph Gizzi of Portsmouth, RI, her sister-in-law Frances Bowley of Newport, RI, many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thrusday, March 27, 2008, from 4-8 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008, at 10:00 am in Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn Street, Newport. Burial will be private.
