Mildred B. Libby

PORTSMOUTH, RI - Mildred B. Bourne Libby, 88, of Aquidneck Place, Portsmouth, RI, formerly of Newport, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of Howard Libby of Portsmouth. Born in Brooklyn, New York on June 1, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George and Hilda Bourne. Mrs. Libby moved to Newport as an infant and attended Newport Schools and graduating from Rogers High School in 1935. She then worked for Newport Electric after graduation. Mrs. Libby married November 25, 1939. After she raised her family she returned to work for the Department of Agriculture at the Newport Post Office. Mrs. Libby enjoyed bowling. and was a member of the Portsmouth Garden Club. Mrs. Libby was also a member St. Marys Episcopal Church and former head of the Altar Guild. Besides her husband she is survived by her children Richard Libby of Portsmouth, RI, Kenneth Libby of Orange, FL, Robert Libby of Craftsbury Common, VT, and Kathie Rarity of Arlington, VA, and several grandchildren. Her funeral services will be private.
