Mildred Etta Ward

Mildred E "Millie" (Jackson) Ward, age 84, of Newport, formerly of Wakefield, MA, Bow Lake, NH and Fort Meyers, FL, died on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Grand Islander Nursing Home in Middletown. Mrs. Ward was born March 14, 1928 in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and the late Etta (Campbell) Jackson. She was the cherished wife of 55 years, of Francis B. Ward. For many years, Millie enjoyed comforting patients with her piano playing in the Atrium at the Newport Hospital. She was the devoted mother of Susan Spring and her husband Peter, of Portsmouth, RI and loving grandmother of Chris Spring and his wife Meg, of Acton, MA and Abbey Luciano and her husband Daryl of Littleton, MA. She was very much loved by her great-grand children Heather and Eric Luciano and Lizzie Spring. A private graveside service will be held in Trinity Cemetery.
