Middletown, RI - Mildred J. (Marone) Naspo, 89, of Middletown, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late George Naspo. Born in Jersey City, NJ on February 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Maria Marone. Mrs. Naspo was born and raised in North Jersey where she resided for several years, before moving to Haddonfield, New Jersey in 1961 until 1986. Mildred moved to New Port Ritchie, FL with her husband for five years until his death. She then moved with her daughter and lived in Pinehurst, NC, Chesterfield, MO, and Naperville, IL before moving to Middletown with her son and his wife. Mrs. Naspo was a huge sports fan and attended her son and grandchildren's sporting events. In her later years Mildred enjoyed watching tennis and was an avid baseball fan. She is survived by two sisters, Helen Vallas and Elsie Kascik, her sister in law Theresa Cox, and brothers in law, Fred and Gene Naspo, her son George Naspo and his wife Jackie of Middletown, RI, her daughter Karen Gerber of Naperville, IL, her grandchildren, David Naspo and his wife Erin and her great grandsons Connor and Brady of Simsbury, CT, Krissy Naspo of Simsbury, CT, and Michael Gerber and David Gerber of Naperville, IL, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date to be announced.
