Miriam C. Dixon

Middletown, - Miriam C. Hitchins Dixon, 83, formerly of Natick, Mass., passed away Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI just before sunrise. She was born in Melrose, MA on October 26, 1919, to the late Mary Stearns and Chester Hitchins. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1937. Miriam lived in Middletown for 43 years and was very active in the James L. Maher Center. Independent, generous kind and humorous, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Robert of 62 years, her son Jonathan Dixon of Middletown, RI, three daughters Roberta Dixon of Alexandria, VA, Diane Mueller of Coppe, Switzerland, and Nancy Fanala of Westerly, RI, her sister Barbara Lann of Newport, RI, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Amy James. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at 11:00AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the James L.
