Newport, - Misael A. ?Misa? Torres, 10, of 27 Chadwick Street Newport, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at home. Born in Newport, RI on July 13, 1992, he was the son of Joaquin Torres and Judith Maldonado and stepson to James Cortes. Misa was a student at the Sullivan School in Newport. His favorite sport was soccer and he enjoyed playing soccer with his friends at school. He was always caring, so lovable and such a happy child. He spread his cheerfulness to everyone that met him. He will be immensely missed by all his family and friends. He is now in heaven sharing all his joy with the angels, but his love will always be in our hearts. He is survived by his mother Judith Maldonado of Newport, RI, his father Joaquin Torres of Newport, RI, his step father James Cortes of Newport, RI, four brothers Gabriel A. Torres, Pablo J. Cortes, Xavier J Cortes, all of Newport and Cristian Torres, of Warren, RI, step sister Lourdes M. Martinez of Newport, RI, grandparents Judith Morales of Newport, RI, and Hipolito Maldonado of Puerto Rico, an uncle Javier Morales of New Bedford, MA, four aunts Marilyn Garcia of Portsmouth, RI, Nancy Maldonado of Puerto Rico, and Carmen N Maldonado of Fall River, MA, and Melissa Gonsalvez of New Bedford, MA and many cousins. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at 11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.
