Amos Carreiro

Amos Carreiro, 91, of Tiverton, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Marie F. (Furtado) Carreiro. Born in Little Compton, RI on Nov. 3, 1922, he was the son of the late Angelo and Bibiana (Almeida) Correiro. Amos was an avid NASCAR racing fan, as well as Sprint car and Midget Car racing.In his youth he loved fishing, playing guitar and was in a band by the name of "The Four Aces" He is survived by his children, Cynthia Koniecki of Tiverton, RI, Ronald Carreiro and his wife Betty of VA, and Robert Carreiro and his fiance Martha of Tiverton, RI. He is also survived by his brother John Correiro of Taunton, MA, his 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Calling hours will be held on Friday October 3, 2014 from 5-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road Portsmouth, RI His funeral will be held on Saturday October 5, 2014, at 11:00am in the Connors Funeral Home.
