Arthur Jeremiah "Jerry" Potts, 73, of Middletown died Monday, December 3, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary (Bruner) Potts.Mr. Potts was born on January 11, 1939 in Newport, RI, the son of the late Arthur and Eileen (Stuart) Potts. Mr. Potts served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for 30 years retiring from We Pray Trucking in 1997. He was a communicant of St. Lucys Church and past president of the Legion of Mary. Mr. Potts worked at the Aquidneck Growers Market, and other area farmers markets and his daughters farm Simmons Farm. Mr. Potts was a huge Patriots fan. Everywhere he went he made friends and fans. His genuine caring nature and radiant personality were easily seen through his smile and heard through his words.Besides his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his children, Ken Potts of Portsmouth, RI, Jed Potts of Exeter, RI, Karla Simmons of Middletown, RI, Joan Brow of Westport, MA, Lisa King of Middletown, RI, and Kim Evans of Middletown, RI, his brother Kenneth Potts of Fall River, MA nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.He was the father of the late Christopher S. Potts, KIA and the late Kenneth Potts. His funeral will be held on Friday December 7, 2012 at 9:00am , in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Lucys Parish.
