Donald Ibbotson

Ibbotson, Donald, 78, of Seaconnet Boulevard, Portsmouth, RI, died Wednesday, May May 9, 2012 at Newport Hospital.He was the husband of Evelyn (L'Heureux) Ibbotson. Born in Tiverton, RI on August 20, 1933, he was the son of the late William A. and Helen (Higginson) Ibbotson. Mr. Ibbotson was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Joyce Ethier and her husband James of South Kingstown, RI and June Massey and her husband Paul of Tiverton, RI; his grandchildren, Nicole, Paige, Adam, Reid and Brooke; his siblings, Grace, Henry, Sylvia, Jack and Emily; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Marian, William, Ruth, Neomi and Helen.His funeral service will held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11 am in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 am - 11 am prior to the funeral service.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Newport Hospital, 11 Friendship Street, Newport, RI 02840.
