Frank A. Monteiro, 54, of Middletown passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Born March 21, 1958 in Newport, RI he was the son of Albert Monteiro and the late Audrey (Hill) Fisher. Frank was a 1977 graduate of Middletown High School and spent his high school years playing basketball for the Middletown Islanders. Frank also attended the University of Rhode Island. He was a very talented carpenter and made the profession his life long career. His artistic abilities were well-known throughout the community. Mr. Monteiro's hobbies included fishing, drawing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and other family members. Mr. Monteiro was also a minister of the Jehovah's Witnesses and was involved in the evangelizing activity within the local communities. Besides his father, he is survived by his children, Terrence Monteiro of Newport, RI, Kelsey Monteiro of Middletown, RI, and Lauren Monteiro of Halifax, MA, his brother Albert Monteiro of Westport, MA, his sister Claudia Tucker of Conyers, GA, his 3 grandchildren William Kyle Simmons III, Khalil Monteiro, Kimani Monteiro, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 4 pm, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 36 Hillside Avenue, Newport, RI.
