Harlin Bennett Perry, 81, of Middletown, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. He was the husband of Helen (Silveira) Perry.Born in Wilsondale, WV, on August 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Walker C. and Lola (Maynard) Perry. Mr. Perry served in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a chief store keeper in the navy for 22 years, retiring in 1974. After retiring from the navy, he worked for J.C. Penney in Newport as a shipping and receiving supervisor for 17 years, retiring in 1993. Mr. Perry was a member of the VFW Post of Middletown. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and wintering in Florida. Besides his wife, he is survived by his stepson, William B. Cox of Westport, MA, his brothers, Lester Clyde Perry of Wayne, WV, Lewis W. Perry of Kermit, WV and William H. Perry of Centerburg, OH, his sisters, Amanda Robinson of Mt. Olive, KY, Dorothy P. Wright of Mentor, OH, Mary T. Estock of Euclid, OH, and Ann F. Blackburn of Kermit, WV and one step- grandson, Brandon C. Cox.He was the stepfather of the late Sharon A. Cox. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 11 am-12 pm in the chapel of Newport Memorial Park, Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown. His funeral service will follow at 12 pm in the chapel. Following his funeral service, Military Honors will be rendered.
