God called one of his soldiers homeHe was the husband of Lois M. (Platts) Robinson.Isaac was born in Florence, SC, on January 4, 1950 to the late Walter and Naomi (Gibbs) Robinson. The family left Florence while Issac was a young child, making Baltimore, MD their home where he would grow up. While growing up in Baltimore and attending the school system there, he learned to play drums professionally. He joined the Musicians Association of Metropolitan Baltimore Local 40-543 AF of MD. Having the opportunity to be the drummer with a group called the "Whatnuts" in the sixties, as well as playing with a band for the opening act of Flip Wilson. Issac played at many cabarets throughout Baltimore. In 1969, Isaac, along with his best friend Aumont Phipps, enlisted in the Navy. After completing boot camp, Issac was assigned to Newport Naval Station, serving aboard the USS Fiske DD842. On the very first day of being in Newport, he met Lois Platts, whom would later, in time, become his wife. Upon his discharge from the Navy in 1972, Issac drove for Cozy Cab while looking for work in his career field. Jobs were hard to find, due to the fact that the Navy was getting ready to leave Newport. In 1973, with jobs still being few and far between, Issac thought it best to return to Baltimore, with hopes of work there, and make Baltimore his home with his wife. Things in Baltimore were no better there, so he returned to Newport, making it his home. Upon returning to Newport, he worked for several small companies until landing a job with Kaiser Aluminum. From there, he was hired at Brown and Sharp as a machinist. In 1982, he was hired at Raytheon, where he worked for 15 years, working various jobs, until landing a position in the machine shop. Isaac was part of a team that built Scud Missiles. During a time of lay-offs at Raytheon, Isaac found work at the Newport Shipyard and Jai Alai, while he waited to be called back to Raytheon. Isaac suffered a stroke and was never able to return to work. Isaac fought hard and long, overcoming all kinds of sickness that came his way. Isaac received a kidney transplant from his brother-in-law Russell Payton (Lois' brother) that provided him with 11 years of dialysis free living, giving Isaac a better quality of life. In the past 3 years, his health slowly declined, having to go back on dialysis, and with each battle that came his way, he, and those who cared for him, put up a good fight. Isaac leaves to survive him, his wife, Lois Platts Robinson, whom God gave 44 years of togetherness, his daughter Mona La Lisa McCoy Alston and her husband Melvin of Dundalk, MD, his son Isaac Allen Robinson Platts of Middletown, RI.
