James J. Hassard

James J. Hassard, 63, of Middletown died unexpectedly Monday, September 7, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Rosalind (Reeves) Hassard. Born in Maspeth, Queens, NY, he was the son of the late James P. and Catherine (ODonnel) Hassard. Jimmy was an avid New York Yankees fan. He also had a love of fishing and softball, he enjoyed playing or watching softball it brought him great joy. He enjoyed swimming and was fond of beaches. He was a 24 year veteran of the United States Navy. He leaves his wife Rosalind of 35 years; he leaves his sons Charles Reeves of Tiverton and Patrick Hassard of Providence. He also leaves his grandchildren Connor Reeves and Ava Wright. James is survived by his sister Patricia Dubner and his nephew Richard Ostrowski both of San Diego. His brother-in-law Harry Reeves of Portland, Oregon and John Reeves of Philadelphia, PA. He will be dearly missed by his beloved dog Sasha.He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Sharon Reeves, Elizabeth Reeves and Patty Reeves. along with his brother-in-law Bill Reeves.Services will be private.
