Jil Teves Carreira

Mr. Jil Teves Carreira, 98, of Newport died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Heatherwood Nursing and Sub-acute Center in Newport, RI. Mr. Carreira was born April 1, 1917 in Tiverton, RI. He is the son of the late Emmanuel and Serinha (Braz) Carreira. He was married to the late Alice (Pacheco) Carreira. Mr. Carreira served in the Army during World War II. He worked most of his life in the construction industry. He loved the ocean and spending time with his family and friends.He is survived by his son William Carreira and his wife Gail, of Portsmouth, his grandson Will Carreira and his wife Jackie of Hisperia, CA, and his granddaughter Shannon Sykes and her husband Peter of North Dartmouth, MA. He is also survived by three great grandsons.Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April11, 2015 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road in Portsmouth with a Memorial Service immediately following at 1:00pm in the funeral home.
