John M. Agias

Newport, RI - John Michael Agias, age 88, of Newport died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Newport Hospital. John was born on October 9, 1924, in Providence, RI. He is the son of the late Michael and Sophia (Mamakos) Agias. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He also co-owned Rhode Island Lunch at 35 Broadway for many years. He is survived by his sister, Bella Boutoures and her husband Timothy of Tewksbury, MA, his nephew Greg Boutoures and his wife Linda of Wilmington, MA, his great nephews Nicholas and Matthew Boutoures; and his great niece, Allison Boutoures, all of Wilmington, MA.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his uncle, Peter Mamakos.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013, from 1:00-3:00PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013, at 1:00PM, in St. Spyridons Greek Orthodox Church, Thames and Brewer Streets, Newport, RI.
