Leo J. Nobert, age 98, of Earl Ave, Newport died on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown. Leo was born April 16, 1917 in Lowell, MA. He is the son of the late Alphonse and Lucie (Leboeuf) Nobert. He was the husband of the late Doris (Dubeau) Nobert. They were married for 63 years. Leo lived in Lowell, Mass until he moved to Newport in 1942. He worked all his life as a mechanic, he worked for Jitney Bus Company, Studebaker for many years. He also operated his service station with a partner on Farewell Street. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. Nobert and her partner Mary McGrail of Rockville, RI and a son Richard Nobert and his wife Holly of Middletown, and three sisters Irene Cadran, Simonne Belanger, and Doris Shepard of Massachusetts. He is also survived by two nephews in the local area Ronald and Robert Molleur in Portsmouth, RI. He was predeceased by his siblings Edmond, and Arthur Nobert, Eyvonne Gregorie, Jeanette Molleur, and Cecile Bellefeuille. Family and friends are invited to a service on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Columba's Cemetery Chapel, Browns Lane, Middletown.The family would also like to thank the caregivers at the Grand Islander for their kind care and compassion during his stay.
