Leonard Joseph Violette Middletown, RI - Leonard Joseph Violette, 57, of Middletown, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home. Born in Fall River, MA on September 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Theodore Violette and Gilberte (Michel) Violette. Leonard grew up in Somerset, the youngest of 7 children. He and his parents moved to Portsmouth in 1986 and he began many years of involvement with the James L. Maher Center Bristol Workshop. In 1996 he moved to Middletown and began a wonderful friendship with his housemates at Looking Upwards. He is survived by his brothers and sister, Robert Violette and his wife Irene of Cookeville, TN, Paul Violette and his wife Delores of Aiken, SC, Philippe Violette and his wife Diana of Cookeville, TN, Leo Violette and his wife Donna of Portsmouth, RI, Roger Violette and his wife Virginia of Alta Loma, CA, his sister Louise ONeill and her husband Frank of Portsmouth, RI, and his extended family at Looking Upwards. His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 30, at 10am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery in Somerset.In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Looking Upwards, Inc., P.O. Box 4289, Middletown, RI 02842.
