Middletown, RI - Amy (Tasker) Anderson, 87, of Bayview Park, Middletown, formerly of Squantum Drive, Middletown, RI, died on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Newport Hospital.She was the wife of the late George Edward Anderson. Born in Newport, RI, on March 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Everett John and Amy (Card) Tasker.Mrs. Anderson worked as a bookkeeper at the Newport Naval Base and was also a nursing assistant at the Grand Islander. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary and also a member of NARFE, the Quahog Chapter of the North American Campers Association, the National Camping Travelers and the Good Sam Camping Club. Amy was a Brownie Troop Leader and also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her children, Arlan E. Anderson of Palm Spring, CA, George E. Anderson Jr. and his wife Jayne of Barrington, RI, John F. Anderson of Middletown, RI and Judy A. Pike and her husband Michael of Portsmouth, RI, her sister Marion Sheehan of Jamestown, RI, seven grandchildren, Andrew Anderson, Ashley Anderson, Alexandra Anderson, Richard Marley, Jr. and his wife Christina, Lyn Muckerheide and her husband Carl, Christine Pike and Natalie Pike and three great grandchildren, Hannah, Connor and Adam Marley.She was the sister of the late Anna Hall of Middletown and Everett J. Tasker, Jr. of Miami, FL, and sister in law of the late Bill Sheehan. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 11 from 5:00-8:00pm, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 12 at 10:00am, in the Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
