Anne Frances Blain Kluth, 87, of Newport, Rhode Island, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Newport Hospital. She was married to the late William A. Kluth, (who died this past August) for 66 years. Born in Holyoke, MA on October 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Anna Lacy Blain and Edgar Blain. Anne moved to Newport at age 10 and graduated from St. Catherine's Academy in 1944. Upon graduation, she was hired by Sears Roebuck Co and worked as a credit manager for the catalog and telephone office. Subsequently, she worked for the US Department of Agriculture as a Program Assistant and acting Manager. She also worked for the RI Cooperative Extension Service Program and in various Newport schools as a teacher's aide. Anne was a devoted Catholic and long-time member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Joseph Church in Newport. Anne also led an active civic and social life. She served for decades as a member of the Newport Democratic City Committee and was a member of the Jaycee Ettes women's leadership training organization. She also enjoyed tap dancing, swimming and participating in the Ye Viking Ladies' Bowling League. Anne loved her family and friends and cherished her time with them.Anne is survived by her daughter Sharon Dwyer (Bill), and her son William F. Kluth (Isabel), all of Middletown, RI; her grandchildren, William Dwyer III (Amy) of New York City, Lacy Dwyer of Washington, DC, Farrell Donovan (Daniel) of Portsmouth, RI, Joel Kluth of Portsmouth, RI, and Kyle Kluth of Newport, RI; her great grandchildren Colin Davis, Pressley Kluth and Camryn Donovan. She also leaves her sisters Lillian Finn of Westerly, RI, and Arline Smith of Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Kluth's brother Edgar J. Blain predeceased her as well as her great granddaughter Caelan Dwyer. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 12:00pm at St. Joseph Church, 5 Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery, 465 Brown's Lane, Middletown, RI.In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to the National Kidney Foundation at
