Barbara Ann Souza

Barbara Ann (Waltz) Souza, 63, of Newport passed away, Thursday, June 27, 2013 in Providence, she was the wife of John P. Souza Jr.Born in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Dorothy A. (Degner) Waltz.Barbara served in the Army during the Vietnam War. She had worked as a nurse's assistant for the former Carriage House Nursing Home. Barbara was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Middletown.Besides her husband for over 39 years, she leaves her children, Edward Souza of Newport, Christy Dales of St. Augustine, FL, Thomas Souza and Roger Souza both of Newport. She was the grandmother of Dylan Souza, Hunter Souza and Lily Dales. Barbara was the sister of Georgianna Kenley.Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 11:00a.m., in the VFW Hall, Post 4487, 52 Underwood Lane, Middletown, RI.
