Carol Hedly

Carol Hedly, 73 , of Cameron, North Carolina, formerly of Portsmouth, RI, passed away on March 11, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.Carol was born on June 7, 1939 in Newport, RI. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Doris (Woolhouse) Mellor.Carol was an avid quilter and loved arts and crafts. She and Tom were avid campers and loved the many wonders of nature. She was an accomplished seamstress. She worked for Thompson and Forbes in Newport and also at the Navy Exchange. She was also the manager at SoFro Fabrics in Middletown for many years. She loved spending time with her family, and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.She is survived by her husband Thomas Hedly, of Cameron, NC, her son Kenneth Hedly and his wife Patricia, of Bridgton, Me, her daughter Cheryl Pinto and her husband Richard, of Warwick, RI. In addition to her children, she is also survived by her grand children, Ryan and Austin Pinto, Sean and Alex Hedly, as well as her brother Ernest Mellor and his wife Alice of Scotland, Ct, her sister Vivian Volk and her husband Karl, of Warwick, RI, her sister-in-law Nancy Hedly of Portsmouth, RI and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 20, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Rd. Portsmouth, RI.Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 21, 2013 at 11:00am in the Funeral Home.Burial will be in St. Mary's Churchyard, 324 East Main Rd Portsmouth, RI.
