Elaine M. Weinand

Middletown, RI - Elaine M. (Verriest) Weinand, 76, of 316 Boulevard, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 peacefully at home. She was the wife of the late James Richard Weinand.Born in Fall River, MA on January 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Victor J. and Florence (Kelly) Verriest.Elaine grew up in Newport and was a graduate of St. Catherine's Academy. Mrs. Weinand began her family and raised them in Middletown. She enjoyed accompanying them to regional and national rolling skating competitions and practices at Portsmouth, Warren, Warwick and Norwood, MA. For many years she worked in the office at the James L. Maher Center. She enjoyed crocheting and the company of her cats at home, but especially loved her grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Elaine M. Dunn and her husband Ed of Middletown, RI, James R. Weinand of Middletown, RI and Ann Marie Roche and her husband Pat of Gilmanton, NH, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
