Eleanor M Lilley Tiverton, - Eleanor M Lilley, 82, of Newport, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Sakonnet Bay Manor in Tiverton, RI. Born in Woonsocket, RI on Nov. 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John Winters and Margaret Winters. She was the wife of the late James A. Stewart William H. Lilley. She is survived by her sons, James A Lilley and his wife Mary Jane of Portsmouth, RI, Daniel R Lilley and his wife Christine of East Providence, RI, and Jay P Lilley Wellesley, MA. She is also survived by her brothers, John Winters and Donald Winters and his wife Amy of Middletown, RI. She also leaves four grandchildren Christopher J. Lilley and his wife Kristen and Bryan P. Lilley and his wife Dorothy both of Simsbury, CT, Sarah Lilley of Portsmouth, RI and Neil Lilley of East Providence, RI and one great-grandchild, Kolton Lilley of Simsbury, CT. She is preceded in death by her sister Constance Jennings. Eleanor was active in the Portsmouth High School Boosters Club when her children were younger and attended school in Portsmouth. She was an administrative assistant at the former Transcom Electronics in Portsmouth, the Portsmouth School Department and after a long career she retired from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her sister Connie. Eleanor loved music and was her son Danny's biggest fan, attending as many of his performances as she could get to. Eleanor was a kind and giving soul, contributing to many causes. She will be missed by all her knew her. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, from 4:00-7:00PM in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road in Portsmouth, RI Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 9:00am from the Connor's Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road in Portsmouth.
