Eleanor M. Volpe

Jamestown, RI - Eleanor M. (White) Volpe, 86, of 398 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, died on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Heatherwood Nursing Subacute Center, Newport.She was the wife of the late John Volpe. Born in Boston, MA on Jan. 5, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Alanso and Mary (Sullivan) White.Mrs. Volpe was a communicant of St. Mark Church in Jamestown. She was President of Parent Teachers Association of North Providence from 1958-1962. Eleanor was a seamstress having made dance costumes for her daughter during her dance career fro the State Ballet of Rhode Island. She was involved in the volunteer work for her parish the presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Volpe and Mary Catherine Pomert both of Newport, her granddaughter Nicole Simone Pomert of Newport.She was the sister of the late Edward White and Margaret LaHageA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:00am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown.
