Ellen Mabel (Greatorex) Gross, age 72, of Portsmouth died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Newport Hospital. Mrs. Gross was born November 7, 1942 in Boston, MA. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Mabel (McCann) Greatorex. Ellen was born one of eight children, three sisters: Helen, Elizabeth, Judith and four brothers: Edward, Francis, Robert, James.She is survived by her husband: Walter R. Gross of Portsmouth, RI, one daughter: Deborah Coble and her husband Scott of VA and one son: Thomas Higgins and his wife Christine of Millis, MA, one granddaughter: Grace Higgins, and her former husband: Gerald Higgins.Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday April 6, 2015 at Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road Portsmouth, RI 02871.
