Evelyn M. Martin

(Mary) Evelyn Martin passed away at Grand Islander Health Center in Middletown RI on July 26, 2013 after a short illness. Born on April 24, 1917 she was the daughter of the late James Carroll and Agnes (Harrington) Carroll. She was married for 65 years to John Martin who predeceased her in 2004.Mrs. Martin was a former member of the Tiverton Women's Club, and a longtime member of the Tiverton Garden Club and the Tiverton Yacht Club. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, boating and traveling.Mrs. Martin is survived by her three children and their spouses, sons John (Cherie) of Tiverton RI , David (Mary) of Tunkhannock PA., daughter Gail (David Welsh) of Jamestown RI; grandchildren John Jason, Natasha Lee, Christopher, Elizabeth (Mathew Glenn), Ted (Liz), Christy (Scott Matz), Patrick (Dana), and Molly; and great-grandchildren Danny and Reed; two sisters-in-law, Delores Martin and Marion Carroll, many nieces and nephews and two faithful caregivers, Edie and Sandy. She was also predeceased by her brothers James, Thomas, John and Owen Carroll and sisters Margaret Braga, Rita Pimental and Patricia Stewart.A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at the Holy Ghost Church, Judsonn Street, Tiverton, Ri at 11:00am.
