Helen Leeber

Helen Leeber, 87 of Middletown RI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Born in Aliquippa, PA on January 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Eva Syrko.Helen was the wife of the late George R. Leeber. They were married for sixty-three years. Helen and George enjoyed traveling in their RV and were members of several camping organizations. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.Helen is survived by her children, Michael A. Leeber and his wife Clara of Waynesville, MO, Timothy Leeber of Middletown and Teresa Maliszewski of Middletown; her grandchildren, Michael Leeber, Sandra Branom, Matthew Leeber, Kaitlyn Parascandolo and Kristen Maliszewski; and her great-grandchildren, Michael Leeber, Ayla George Parascandolo, and Adriana Rose Leeber.She is also survived by her sisters, Olga Steed, Irene Bontempo, and Ann Batz, and her brother William Syrko. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her son George R. Leeber, Jr., and her brothers Michael Syrko, John Syrko, and George Syrko.Visiting hours will be held Wednesday July 31, 2013, at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI from 4-8pm. Her funeral will be held on Thursday August 1, 2013 at 8:00am from the Connors Funeral Home with a mass of Christian burial at 9:00am at St. Lucy's Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, RI.
