Janice "Mema" Kesson

Janice B. "Mema" Kesson, age 76, of Portsmouth died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Grand Islander Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. Mrs. Kesson was born December 12, 1935 in Newport, RI. She was the daughter of the late John Herbert and the late Gertrude (Sisson) Barker. She was married to the late John S.Kesson Jr., owner of Paramount Farms, a local dairy farm in Middletown. In her earlier years she was a homemaker and day care provider. She was a country music fan and loved to visit Cape Cod to take in a country concert and enjoy the sites. She is survived by her daughter Susan Farrea and her husband Joseph of Portsmouth, RI; her sister: Judith Marshall of Portsmouth, RI and two brothers, Paul Barker and his wife Margaret of Merritt Island, FL and John Barker of Portsmouth, RI. She is also survived by her grand children, J.D. and Peter Squires, Rebecca Farrea and Kayla Kesson, and two great-grand children, Emma Squires and Olivia James. She had several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her son Michael Kesson. Calling hours will be held on, Sunday September 9, 2012 from 4pm - 7pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West .Main Rd. in Portsmouth, RI. Burial will be private.
