Mary Louise Nowlan

Mary Hall (Therien) Nowlan, 91, of, Portsmouth died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 20, 2013.Mary was born to Benjamin Hall and Annette (Korzeneski) on March 22, 1921 and attended Rogers High School in Newport. Mary graduated from Bryant College, worked at Butterfields Funeral Home in Cranston as the bookkeeper for 30 years and is a past president of the Cranstons Women of Rotary. She was predeceased by her husbands Norwell F. Therien and James W. Nowlan, her son Norwell F. Therien, Jr. and daughter-in-law Bonnie (Briody) Therien. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Norwell, Briana, Trissa and Gavin, great-grandchildren, Talon, Willow, and Ember, stepdaughters Mary Ann (Peter) LePorte, Janis Nowlan, Deb (Tony) Dovale, step grandchildren Christine and Ellen and 2 step great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held for Mary at St. Anthonys Parish in Portsmouth, RI this Saturday at 10am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to VNS-Hospice at 1184 E. Main Rd.
