Maureen Collier

Newport, RI - Maureen Collier, 83, of 48 Homer Street, Newport, RI, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at South County Nursing Rehabilitation. Born in New York, NY on October 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Louis McVeigh and Isabelle (McManus) McVeigh. Maureen lived in Ireland as a child, but resided on Aquidneck Island for over forty years. She worked as an assembler for Transcom Electronics in Portsmouth for over fifteen years. She loved arts and crafts and her greyhound, Murphy. Her passions were elephants and unicorns. She will be deeply missed with all our love. She is survived by her children, Brian Grednuk and his wife, Julie, and their children, Kerra and Brian, Jr., of Newport, RI, her daughter Denise Mair of Arizona, and her son Michael Collier of California, and her sister Margaret "Rita" Largey of San Juan Capistrano, CA. She was predeceased by her children, Eileen Collier, Danny Collier, and Tommy Collier. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the National Greyhound Foundation, P.O.
