Norma (Fay) Childs

Portsmouth, RI - Norma (Fay) Childs, 83, died peacefully at home with family attending on Friday, May 31, 2013.She was the wife of the late LCDR George M. Childs.Born in Framingham, MA on August 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Ina (Wheeler) Fay.Mrs. Childs was a long term resident of Middletown RI, where she settled after marrying George in 1976. She became an RN in 1949 and practiced around the country from Boston to Arizona. She continued giving care to other family members and friends until recently, always carrying a strong belief in the Lord.She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Howard Fay, Preston S. Fay Jr., Richard Fay and Marion Davis.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 1:00pm, in Middletown Baptist Church, 1818 West Main Road, Middletown.Burial will be Wednesday at 1:00pm in the Orleans Cemetery, Tonset Road, Orleans, MA.
