Rose Lewis Wynperle

Rose Wynperle, 99, of Portsmouth, formerly of Green End Avenue, Middletown, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Wynperle and the late Anthony Lewis.Born in 1915 in Newport, RI, she was a graduate of the Arthur Angelo's Hair Dressing School. She went on to become a teacher in Hair Design and Cosmetology at the Newport School of Hairdressing in Newport and Bristol. She was longtime communicant of Jesus Saviour Church, and was an active volunteer with many church activities including the Rosary Sodality, the Portuguese American Civic League, and the Blue Army.She is survived by her children, Barbara E. Lewis of Portsmouth and Frank J. Lewis of Middletown, RI, and several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and one sister. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Lewis, and several siblings.Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 8:00am at Memorial Funeral Home, follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway, Newport, RI with Broadway.
