Shirley Rodcosky Borkowski

Shirley Rodcosky Borkowski, age 90, of Portsmouth died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at John Clarke Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. Mrs. Borkowski was born December 20, 1921 in Southington, CT. She is the daughter of the late Edward J. and the late Pauline (Luty) Rodcosky. She was the wife of Joseph H.Borkowski. Shirley graduated from Central Connecticut State University, and shared her love of history as a teacher and a librarian. Mrs. Borkowski married her husband in 1949, and as a Navy family, traveled for the most part up and down the East coast, but was also stationed in Trinidad, BWI, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Shirley was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading and fashion design.She is lovingly remembered by her husband Joseph, her son Michael, her daughter Joan Stevens, and two grandchildren, Lauren and Joseph Borkowski. Her funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, we ask for random acts of kindness in her name.
