Catherine "Kay" A. Atwood

Middletown, RI - Catherine A. Atwood, 84, of Middletown, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center Providence, RI.Born in Newport, RI on December 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Carmine Pinto and Jane (Campion) Pinto.Kay grew up on Gould Street in Newport. For many years she was employed by the Newport Naval Base as a Data Processor retiring in December of 1993. Kay found great joy in time spent at Calvary UMC in Middletown. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, helping at the monthly soup kitchen, was known over the years for her talent making cakes, often providing cakes for family and friends at weddings and other special occasions.
