Helen Sanches, 93, of Newport died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Village House Nursing Home of Newport, RI. Born on February 27, 1922 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria (Morinho) Sanches. Helen worked as a billing clerk for the Newport Hospital from 1962 to 1987. She also worked for County Food Market on Aquidneck Avenue. She is survived by her brother Edward Sanches of Newport, RI and many nieces and nephews. She was the youngest of nine siblings.Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015, from 12-1pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her service will follow at 1:30pm in St. Columba Cemetery Chapel, Browns Lane, Middletown.Donations in her memory may be made to the Newport Hospital, 11 Friendship Street, Newport, RI 02840.
