Muriel Addess Longton Crowninshield, 87, of Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, formerly of Marblehead, MA, died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at the Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late William W. Crowninshield. Mrs. Crowninshield was the daughter of the late William and Frances Surrette Longton. She was a 1933 graduate of Marblehead High School. She spent t he next year and a half studying nursing at Salem hospital in Salem, MA. At age 59, she completed courses at both North Shore Community College and Essex Agricultural Institute and was certified a medical assistant. Mrs. Crowninshield was an active member of St. Michael?s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the altar guild, parish aide and treasurer of St. Michael?s Thrift Shop.She leaves two sons, Bowdoin B. Crowninshield II of Marblehead and Capt. George W. Crowninshield of Middletown, RI, a daughter Katherine L. Newman of Boxford, MA, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William Longton and Marjorie MacDonald. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at 1:00 PM in St. Michael?s Episcopal Church, 26 Pleasant Street, Marblehead. Burial will be in Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead.
