Muriel Trent

Newport, RI - Muriel E. Mordaunt Trent, 97, formerly of Springfield, MA, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Harry C. Trent. Born in Dorchester, MA, on December 2, 1908, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Veronica Murphy Mordaunt.Mrs. Trent was a 1928 graduate of Portland High School. She worked at General Electric for 22 years, retiring in 1970, and also did volunteer work at the Springfield Public Library. Mrs. Trent was a communicant of St. Josephs Church. She loved crossword puzzles and was also an avid reader. She is survived by her son Clifton P. Trent of Portugal, her daughters Elizabeth Robbins of Port Ritchey, FL, and Patricia A. Evans of Newport, RI, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the mother of the late Judith C. Frost and the sister of the late William L. Mordaunt, Clifton Mordaunt and Jessica Acker. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2006, at 10:00 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be private.
