NEWPORT, RI ? M. Gladys Matwejko Donovan, 89, of 84 Bliss Road, Newport, RI, formerly of Fall River, MA, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at St. Clare Home, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Thomas W. Donovan.Born in Fall River, MA on April 18, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Dmytro and Pauline Blaha Matwejko.Mrs. Donovan was born and raised in Fall River, MA. She was a secretary for the Newport Naval War College in the library. Over the years, Mrs. Donovan was active with the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a communicant of St. Joseph?s Church. She is survived by her son Thomas Donovan and daughter-in-law Patricia Jackson Donovan of Newport, RI, her niece Pauline Schuck of Blairsville, GA, and two nephews George Jones of Florida and William Cox of Auburn, MA, and her grandchildren Thomas J. ?TJ? and Caitlin Donovan both of Newport, RI. She is preceded in death by her two sisters Vera Cox and Irene Jones.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway Vernon Avenue, Newport.
