Myrtle Louise Leary

PORTSMOUTH, Rhode Island---Myrtle Louise Ashworth Leary, 75 of 122 Cottage Avenue, Portsmouth died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Newport Hospital. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts on March 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy Wright Ashworth. She worked at the Portsmouth Public Library for 20 years as the assistant librarian in the children?s room.She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia L. Leary-Johnson of Portsmouth, Kathleen L. Leary of Windsor, Connecticut; two sons, James E. Leary III of Huntington Beach, California, and John W. Leary of Portsmouth; her former husband James E. Leary Jr. of Portsmouth, RI, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 27 from 4-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Road Portsmouth, RI 02871 with a Memorial Service at 7:30pm.Memorial donations may be made to the Portsmouth Public Free Library, Children?s Room, 2658 East Main Road Portsmouth, RI 02871.
