Myrtle P. Berry Portsmouth, RI - Myrtle P. Berry, 91, of 34 Aquidneck Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, formerly of Slate Hill, Middletown, where they lived for 20 years, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at the Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of James D. Berry Jr. Born in Newport, RI, on June 30, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anne Oxx Peckham.Mr. and Mrs. Berry were residents of Portsmouth for 47 years. Mrs. Berry was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. She was a member of the former Order of Eastern Star Eureka Lodge and a former member of the Aquidneck Grange. She and her husband were members of the NCT, a masonic camping organization. Mr. and Mrs. Berry spent their winters in Davenport, FL. She is survived by two sons Donald Berry of Middletown, RI, and James Berry III of Las Vegas, NV, a sister Paula Ottilige of Middletown, RI, four grandchildren Adam Berry, Timothy Berry, Sarah White, and Lisa Driscoll, and five great grandchildren Alana, Brandon, Bryant, Kayden, and Tyler. She was also the sister of the late Gertrude Burgess and grandmother of the late Laura Berry.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 12 Noon, in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. in the Connors Funeral Home.
