Newport, RI - Namon Choice, 82, of 35 Memorial Boulevard Newport, died Friday, January 14, 2005, at Heatherwood Health Care Center, Newport, RIHe was the husband of Jacqueline Mason Choice of Newport. Born in Chatam, VA on March 22, 1922, he was the son of the late Whit and Ada Dawson Choice. Mr. Choice served in the United States Navy, during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Officers Club on the Newport Naval Base for nineteen years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Choice was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association of Newport. Besides his wife of 50 years he is survived by four sons Raymond Choice of Belleville, IL, Thomas Choice and twin sons Namon Choice and Norman Choice all of Newport, RI, his step son Earl Smith of East Providence, RI, his step daughter Estelle Maxwell of Jacksonville, FL, his brother Ramon Choice of Pittsburg, PA, three sisters Artris Miller, Mary White and Hostella Hubbard all of Danville, VA, ten Grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces great nephews.He was the father of the late Diane Choice and the brother of the late Arie Clark, Anne Smith, Bertha Walker and Ella Powns.His funeral and burial are private.
