Nancy Elizabeth Bradbury, 80, of Portsmouth died quietly Thursday, February 5, 2015 at home in Portsmouth surrounded by her family. Born on September 18, 1934 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Pauline F. (Ward) Rusling. She was the wife of fifty years to the late Edward Bradbury, who predeceased her on June 16, 2014, and grandmother to Ann Elizabeth Gautie, who died in 1989. Nancy was a strong courageous woman; one to be emulated. In her adventure filled life she managed to Climb Mt. Washington, hot air balloon over Napa Valley, travel to Hong Kong and Hawaii, sail along the East Coast, ski in the high peaks, meet her favorite singer, Judy Garland, during a private concert, and win the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award in 1995 for her work as an EEO counselor. She and her husband were members of the Newport Ski Club, Goat Island Yacht Club, and NUSC Bowling League.She is survived by her children, Linda Ann (Morley) Gautie and her husband, Stephen, of Portsmouth, RI, and Kathy (Harding) Brunelle and her husband, Gerard of Buzzard Bay, MA. In addition, she leaves her brother, William Ward Rusling of Sarasota, FL, and five grandchildren, Adam Gautie and his wife, Ann Marie (Nurnberger), of Burlington, MA, Sarah (Gautie) Ferreira and her husband, Gregory, of Coventry, CT, Kristin Hardin and her fianc, Christian Mihai, of Bristol, RI, Kaitlin (Harding) Ledsworth and her husband, Brendan, of Warren, RI, Emma Rose Gautie of Portsmouth, RI. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Layla and Lily Ledsworth of Warren, RI, Kayleigh Mihai of Bristol, RI and Lucas Ferreira of Coventry, CT and her niece, Tina (Rusling) DeAngelis of Oceanport, NJ.At her family's request all services are private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forever Paws Shelter for Animals, 300 Lynwood Street, Fall River, MA 02721.
