Nancy Lantz

Portsmouth, RI - Nancy Peirce Lantz, 96, of 1378 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Norman Reginald Lantz. Born in Lyndenville, VT on July 19, 1913, she was the daughter of the late George and Marion Greene Peirce.During the 1950s and 1960s she worked as a journalist for the Fall River Herald, Providence Journal and the Newport Daily News for 20 years. Mrs. Lantz attended Channing Memorial Church during the 1950s. She was the 1st Den Mother in Portsmouth and stayed active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years. She is survived by her sons Norman C. Lantz of Portsmouth, RI and Richard G. Lantz of Mansfield, MA, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late William P. Lantz and the sister of the late Fales Peirce, William Peirce, Barbara Sherman and Rebecca Peirce. Her services will be private
