Nicholas Hansen, 94, of Sakonnet Bay Manor, Tiverton, RI, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Sakonnet Bay Manor, Tiverton, RI.He was the husband of the late Gracie Russell Hansen. Born in Newport, RI on Apr. 4, 1915, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Elsie Hansen Hansen.A lifetime resident of Newport, RI, his hobbies included photography, bike riding, gardening and cooking. Mr. Hansen loved animals, especially cats, and his visiting canine friend, Alex. He had many friends and was surrounded by caring members from Sakonnet Bay Manor, All About Home Care and Hospice of RI.Mr. Hansen is survived by his niece, Pamela Pelletier, daughter of the deceaseds late sister, Ruth Ruggeri, of Portsmouth, RI; a great niece, Nicole Pelletier; and niece Denise Yelle, from Connecticut, daughter of the deceaseds late sister, Elsie Yelle; and many other nieces and nephews.
