Nils E. Attemann

Portsmouth, RI - Nils E. Attemann, 81, of 88 Vanderbilt Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Sakonnet Bay Manor, Tiverton, RI.He was the husband of Maree E. Koop Attemann. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, on March 18, 1930, he was the son of the late Hugo and Ingeborg Christiansen Attemann.Mr. Attemann served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received his MBA in Business Administration and his BBA Engineering and Management from Northeastern University, in Boston, MA, he received his AE in Electronic Engineering from Lincoln Institute in Boston, and went to US Army Signal School in Fort Monmouth, NJ in Advanced Radar Repair. He was a member of the Fraternity Livienisis Academic Society, the Boston Estonian Society and the Fall River Philatelic Society. Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his sons, Hugo Attemann of Potsdam, NY, Paul Attemann of Warren, RI, and Rein Attemann of Seattle, WA, his daughter Renee Martinez of Guadalajara, Mexico, and his grandchildren, Miles Attemann and Enrik Attemann.He was the brother of the late Evelyn Attemann. Calling hours are omitted.His memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
