Nora T. Peterson

Nora Thompson Peterson, 73, of Dudley Avenue, Middletown, RI, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.She was the wife of the late Paul William Peterson.Born in Waterbury, CT on April 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alta Doll Thompson.Mrs. Peterson graduated in 1960 from the Backus Hospital School of Nursing in Norwich, CT and worked in hospital, private duty, and nursing home settings. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church in Newport. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by three sons, Philip E. Peterson and his wife Lisa of Valparaiso, IN, Michael E. Peterson of Newport, RI and Thomas W. Peterson and his wife Jacquie of Long Island, NY; a brother, Edward Thompson of Watertown, CT; a sister, Shirley Ann Thompson of Palm Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Nicole Brooke Peterson and Connor Chase Peterson; many nieces and nephews and several god-children. She was the sister of the late Veronica Sechrist.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9 am from Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will follow in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5-8 pm in the funeral home
