Norma C. Russo

Middletown, RI - Norma Charlotte Russo, 94, of 12 Hart Street, Middletown, RI, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late William A. Russo, Sr. Born in Cowesett, RI on Jan. 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte Littlefield.Norma worked as an assembler for GE Monowat and also worked for the Clambake Club Eastons Point. Norma was a communicant of St. Lucys Church and also volunteered for Meals on wheels and other organizations. She was an avid reader, and spent her free time knitting hats for the military. She loved to crochet and enjoyed nothing more then playing card games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son William A. Russo, Jr. and his wife Maryalice Parvo Russo of Middletown, RI, her grandchildren Sharon A. Thomas and her husband Matt of Weare, NH, William A Russo III and his wife Sandy Ripa of Portsmouth, RI and Michael J. Russo and his fianc Brandee DeCotis of Middletown, RI, her great grandchildren, Christopher J. Russo. Kate E. Russo, William A. Russo IV, Jocelyn N. Thomas, Taylor M. Russo, Garrett M. Thomas, and Emily L. Russo, and her great-great grandchildren, Aidan J. Russo, Juliette M. Russo, and Cameron M. Russo. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 9:30 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
