Norman R. Hadad, 81, of Sherwood Drive, Portsmouth, RI, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.He was the husband of Theresa D. Duquette Hadad. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary next week.Born in Fall River, MA on June 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Solomon and Estelle Jean Hadad. Mr. Hadad was a components engineer for Raytheon for 35 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church in Portsmouth where he was very active in their annual feast. He was also a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center and enjoyed playing bridge and bowling. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert G. Hadad and his wife, Dana, of New York; three grandsons, Nicholas, Keith and Jared Hadad, all of New York; an adopted grandson, Justin Kruczek of Connecticut; and his siblings, Gilbert Hadad and his wife, Diana, Ronald Hadad and his wife, Cecile, Dorothy Fontes and her husband, John, Lillian Hadad, and Nancy McGrady and her late husband, Ted.He was the brother of the late Rev. Gerard Hadad.His funeral will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 9 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown, RICalling hours will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 3 - 7 pm in the funeral home.The family requests that you please omit flowers.
