Newport, RI - Odell Felix Favier, 88, of Village House, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at the Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Rose Mazza Favier. Born in Menfro, MO, on July 9, 1917, he was the son of the late Felix J. and Iva Ferrer Favier.Mr. Favier graduated from Rogers High School in 1936. He went on to serve in the Navy during WWII and was involved in the invasion of Saipan in 1945. Mr. Favier was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Newport Council No. 256 and the American Legion Post 0007. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Church and was a volunteer in their soup kitchen. He is survived by his goddaughter Ruth Wernquest of Newport, RI, and nieces Judith Roberts of Fairvax Station, VA and Pat Obermaier of Manhatten, NY Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Josephs Church Broadway at Mann Avenue Newport.Burial will be held in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 9 ? 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Village House Activities Fund, 70 Harrison Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
